Salihu Yakasai, Director General, Media and Communications, Kano State Government, and aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill the federal government’s promise of ensuring the groundbreaking of Kano-Ibadan rail project commences in August.
Yakasai, who tweeted through his handle, @Dawisu on Monday, August 31, drew the president’s attention to the fact that the promise made to the Kano state has not yet been fulfilled even as the month is ending today.
He went further to ask why nothing has been done with regards to the project as he said that the people of Kano state need it to commence in earnest.
The governor’s aide wrote;
“Dear President @MBuhari. We were promised that groundbreaking of Kano-Ibadan rail will commence in August, today Is 31st of August & nothing has been done, with no explanation as to why that is. The year is ending & 2023 is around the corner. We need this project Your Excellency.”
