The acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Daniel Pondei has put up a show during the probe as regard corruption rocking the Ministry.
Pondei paid N600m+ to a Communication company to go to communities where NDDC did jobs. The money is to train staff that will sit down and pinpoint where the NDDC jobs in the communities are sighted, because the aiditors can come to the communities and start looking for the projects. And as Acting MD, he didn’t know if that was provided for in the budget or not.
Then he asked to explain how he paid palliatives of N1.6bn to himself and his team to “take care of themselves” during covid and if it was in the budget. He said it wasn’t N1.6bn, but N1.32bn. He said he needed time to check if that one was in the budget. Okay. Okay.
Then he was reminded that budget year ended May 31, and they were trying to lecture him on what that means then he collapsed
