U.S government withdraws directive that will have international students deported

Today the U.S government withdrew the ICE directive that would have prevented international students from staying in the country if they attend institutions that are holding courses online this fall.

The Court has retained jurisdiction, which would allow Harvard to seek judicial relief immediately to protect international students should the government again act unlawfully.

“In the end, the public overwhelmingly agreed with us, and the government, in response, withdrew its order.” Read President Bacow’s message to the community
