Kanye West files papers to run for president

Kanye West filled out and filed on Wednesday the first Federal Election Commission form required to become a presidential candidate

On the Statement of Organization, the 43-year-old rapper is running under the third party ‘BDY,’ which he says stands for the Birthday Party

He has not yet filed the second, and more important FEC form required to run for president – Statement of Candidacy

This form proves show a candidate has raised or spent more than $5,000 in campaign activity and would trigger immediate candidacy status

West announced July 4 that he is running for president in November, but did not fill out or file any FEC paperwork until Wednesday

Recent reports revealed the candidate was ending his run just two weeks after announcing, but the newly filed paperwork proves otherwise
