Two Ivy league universities , Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have promised to stand by international students against ICE decision to deport students whose lectures will now be taken online as a result of the #COVID19 pandemic.
In a series of tweet on the official Twitter handle of Harvard University, it was stated that Harvard and MIT have filed pleadings in the US District Court in Boston seeking a temporary restraining order prohibiting enforcement of the ICE order.
Both universities have assured international students that they wont stand by and see their dreams extinguished.
President Bacow of Harvard University also promised that the case will be pursued vigorously so international students in institutions across the country can continue their studies without the threat of deportation.
On Monday, ICE announced that international students will not be allowed to stay in the country if they attend institutions, like Harvard, that are holding courses online this fall. (1/6)
