Chidubem Obi becomes first African to graduate with 5.0 GP in Russian Medical School

Nigerian medical student in Russia, Chidubem Gerald Obi has made history in the country by breaking an academic record.

Obi’s seven years journey in the faculty of Medicine in I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University) Russia was crowned with utmost joy as he became the first African student to graduate with 5.0 GP in the institution.


Chidubem, who hails from Anambra state, was honored with award of the best graduating student at the schools convocation ceremony.

First Moscow State Medical University is the oldest medical school in Russia, located in Moscow.

The university was founded in 1758 as medical faculty of Imperial Moscow University as the first medical school in Russia.
