Majek Fashek, reggae legend dies at 57

Reggae legend Majek Fashek has passed on.

The world woke up to the news of the death of Popular Reggae Singer,Songwriter and Actor Majek Fashek. He died on the 1st of June in a hospital in New York.

He was born 6th February, 1963. He died at 57. Majek battled drug addiction and other related ailment before his passing.

He is best known for the 1988 album Prisoner of Conscience, which included the multiple award-winning single “Send Down the Rain”.Also known as The Rainmaker, he has worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé.[ May his soul rest in perfect peace.

A statement was released by his manager on his official Instagram page.

The statement reads: “Today been having pressure calls,well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker. Let celebrate him ,his achievements and his family,what ever decisions made by his immediate family will be notify.
