#Covid19: Buhari waives import duty for medical equipment



President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a blanket waiver of import duty for medical equipment and supplies.

The waiver is to “strengthen health infrastructure” in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

This was announced in a tweet by Tolu Ogunlesi, special assistant to the president on digital and new media, on Tuesday.

Nigerian health workers are currently battling equipment shortage in the fight against COVID-19.
