Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai,is still running government activities despite being down with coronavirus.
El-Rufai has been in isolation since he contracted the disease on March 28 and his deputy has been in charge of the affairs of the state.
The governor who is now ”bearded” attended a virtual meeting with members of his cabinet on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by deputy governor of Kaduna, Hadiza Balarabe.
“Malam Nasir @elrufai is attending the daily virtual meeting of the State Standing Committee on Covid-19, which is chaired by Deputy Governor @DrHadiza Balarabe,” a tweet by the official account of the governor read.
El-Rufai had come out to say he is yet to be free from the coronavirus more than two weeks after his diagnosis.
“Earlier Wednesday 10am-2pm, I took [a] few hours during isolation to chair a virtual meeting of the State Executive Council. I haven’t been cleared of Covid-19 yet & will personally announce when confirmed negative. Ignore all fake news even if you like it,” he tweeted on April 15.
His contemporaries like Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered from the disease.
Kaduna state has so far recorded six cases of coronavirus.
