The commissioner for health in Lagos state, Akin Abayomi, has revealed that the latest death from coronavirus is a 36-year-old Nigerian man.
While announcing 10 new cases of the virus in the country earlier on Sunday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed one death but did not give details.
“We lost a #COVID19 patient; a 36-year-old Nigerian male, who died in a private facility on 4th April, 2020. Total number of #COVID19 patients who have died are now 2. One case was evacuated bringing total evacuated to 2,” he tweeted.
A total of five persons persons have now died from COVID-19 complications, with two in Lagos, which has the highest number of confirmed cases.
As at Sunday, April 5, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 224 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 115 in Lagos.
