Reactions trailing the recent #xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa

Written and Composed by Ada Bekee

On Sunday, fresh violence broke out in the Jappestown area of Johannesburg, with a group of South Africans attacking and destroying many foreign-owned shops, other businesses and cars.

Lives were lost and properties demolished. Businesses were attacked, looted and destroyed.

Friends and families of those affected by the destruction and attacks, and have lost someone and/or properties.

Nigerians who are enraged but diplomatic and are asking why despite the continuing attacks on Nigerian nationals and businesses in South Africa, nothing is being done to prevent them from happening again.

Those who just want an eye for an eye. They’ll be like “If Nigerians can’t attack them back in South Africa, let’s attack them and their businesses back in Nigeria.”

Those who think the solution is as simple as Nigerians leaving South Africa and coming back to Nigeria. They’ll be like “if they are killing you people, why are you still there? Why not come back?”

The Nigerians who as usual do not care. They do not have any family abroad and already think Nigeria is a hopeless country. If the danger is not imminent, they cannot be bothered.

Nigerians who have taken matters into their own hands and have started destroying their MTN sims (but how can they destroy their DSTV decoders when BBN hasn’t ended?)

Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa now… especially in affected areas.

The Xenophobic South Africans still looking for more people to attack.

The South African deputy minister of police and all the supporters of xenophobia who are justifying the violence.

South Africans who do not support xenophobia or violence of any form and are wondering why can’t we all just live together in peace and harmony?

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria… after hearing that no cow was harmed in the violence.

The Nigerian Government after finally issuing a robust reply and summoning the South African High Commissioner, due to plenty heat from Nigerians home and in diaspora.. (las las… nothing will be done).

Meanwhile, South African businesses in Nigeria like dem DSTV, MTN and shoprite…

Then… Hushpuppi was understandably upset and had to chook mouth in the matter, but somehow, he managed to bring in Busola’s rape case and used it to insult Nigerian celebrities.

2Baba had to reply Hushpuppi and told him to stop harassing them, and that if celebrities don’t speak up, he (Hushpuppi)should fight for his people.

And here’s Bobrisky… He’s just glad that there’s a more important distraction for Nigerians to focus on…

The End🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
