Movie director, Oscar a political prisoner of Gov. Ganduje

According to reports, a Hausa movie director Sunusi Oscar has been locked up in jail for directing a music video.

Oscar was arrested and thrown into jail after being accused of posting a music video on YouTube without permission from the Kano State censorship board.

Oscar said that he did not release the video or post it on the internet that all he did was direct the video, despite telling the court that he is neither a marketer nor a distributor the judge still sent him to prison.

The head of the Kano State censorship board Ismail Afakallah who ordered his arrest has refused to grant any interview concerning the issue.

It is alleged that the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje is being Oscar’s ordeal as Oscar was one of the people who campaigned against him in the Ferbuary 2019 gubernatorial election.

Actress Kate Henshaw made a post about it on her Instagram page.

JUST IN: . This is Sunusi Oscar, a Hausa movie director. The Kano State Censorship Board headed by Ismaila Afakallah arrested him, took him straight to court and the judge refused him bail and Oscar was sent straight to prison.. His offence..? That last month, he released a music video on YouTube without permission( is censorship board needed here?) and 4 years ago he released a Hausa music video into the market without censorship certificate… Sunusi told the court, he was just the director of the videos, he is neither the artiste, producer/marketer who distributed the said videos. . . Info reaching me is that his refusal to support the current administration of Ganduje is the reason behind this….. . This is so so wrong and condemned in entirety. . Injustice to one, is injustice to all…
