Lagos commissioner of police, Imohimin Edgal, had said the suspects were arrested after threatening to shoot policemen controlling traffic at the Oshodi area of the state.
Edgal said the musician has a pre-existing case for allegedly shooting a gun at his Agege show where four persons were injured.
The commissioner said: “You would have thought the incident would caution him but surprisingly today, I got a situation report from traffic monitors at the Oshodi expressway about four unknown gunmen in green unregistered SUV.
“He (Small Doctor) allegedly brought out a weapon and threatened to fire the policemen. Fortunately, the DPO and other policemen at Shogunle intercepted the suspects and arrested them.”
The singer is expected to headline his concert on Sunday, December 9, in Agege.
Following his release from custody, Small Doctor took to social media to thank his fans for their support.
He tweeted: “Believe In GOD, All Power Belongs To God. Thank You All For The Love & Positive Vibe.
The singer said he is “doing great” and that his concert will proceed as scheduled.
